The fishing is second to none due to the great care taken by the owner, the lake is not overfished which leads to a chance to catch some great fish of which many are 30lb+!
On our one week trip we were lucky enough to catch a total of 31 carp which included 3 in excess of 40lb+!

The surroundings are really well looked after, the carp are immaculate and Nick your host provided me with all the information you need, from lake maps to best travel options, he was always very quick to respond to any questions prior and during my stay!

“I had fished a few lakes over the years in France and from the reviews i decided to visit Carphunters Lake…On my arrival i was in my own little paradise!
Very secluded and private with immaculate surroundings being comprised of parkland and forest along with a beutiful mature tree lined lake!
All the facilties that i needed for the week were supplied in the cabin to keep me clean and fed, along with the decking verander overlooking the lake where you can dine whilst resting your swim!
Nick supplied me with all the knowledge to make my stay very enjoyable and productive, with information from travel, local supermarkets and inside knowledge on the lake ranging from depths, rigs, bait and the all important hotspots…this information provided invaluable as it resulted in 28 carp upto 42.07!
My PB was broken 3 times during the week!
It was the best weeks fishing ive had, and along with the lake,surroundings and facilities probably the best holiday ive had! I actually got the impression that Nick wanted me to enjoy my week and catch Carp, so thankyou!

“Just returned from Carphunters Lake for my 50th birthday treat, and boy what a treat it was! What a perfect setting the lake is situated in, beautiful, peaceful and the fishing wasn’t bad either! The carp are very hard fighting fish, in total we caught 39 fish with a total weight of 858lbs.
If I was going to buy a lake in France this would definitely be a lake and setting, I would desire to own!”

“We have spent time holidaying at carp fishing lakes for some years now and after looking around at some new venues decided to give Carphunters Lake a try. We are glad we did and certainly don’t regret the decision.
The lake has a very green setting with trees and fields all around. There are a few neighbours but you wouldn’t know it! Despite this it is only a short drive to to all the amenities you could possibly need.
The lake is set among trees that provide shade and shelter but the grass and tracks are well maintained making walking around the lake very pleasant. The swims are easy to access and again are well maintained. Good quality nets, slings and cradles are provided.
There is a bait cabin for guests to use including kitchen facilities plus toilet and shower with ample hot water. There’s also a accommodation if you wish.
The carp are healthy and fight quite hard too. A mix of common and mirror carp are there for you. Despite the weather, I managed to catch a few. (Nick was generous with his tips but watercraft is always advisable!) Healthy stock levels and good water management mean that if you angle well your chances of catching are good.
My wife doesn’t fish, but she found that spending a week here was relaxing. At least I didn’t get much grief!
We certainly recommend Carphunters for a relaxing week’s fishing holiday!”

The scenery is absolutely stunning, surrounded with greenery and wildlife. Its truly a peaceful and picturesque spot, perfect for both the seasoned anglers and those just looking to unwind in nature!
One of the standout features of this venue is how impeccably well kept everything is! The grounds are immaculate, and its clear that a lot of care and attention goes into maintaining the area. The facilities are clean and conveniant, adding to the overall experience.
The lake itself boasts a beautiful stock of fish. Whether you’re aiming for the big girls or just enjoy the thrill of the sport, you won’t be disappointed.
A special mention to the owner, who cares a lot for his fish and his lake and was incredibly helpful throughout my stay. From offering tips on the best spots to fish to helping you with any problems you face he is always very happy to help if he can.
In short, Carphunters Lake is the perfect destination for a fishing holiday, its definitely an experience you won’t forget, and i’m already looking forward to my next visit booked in 2025!”

“First time at Carphunters Lake and what an impressive looking venue, so clean and tidy and very beautiful, the peace and tranquillity of the place is outstanding!
The accommodation is comfortable with everything you need to enhance your stay, piping hot showers and full cooking facilities available along with the provided nets, slings and mats all set out ready for the Fishing!
Only fished between the hours of 8am and 7pm and normally for about 4/5 hours within that time frame…this resulted in 29 Carp in total with the biggest being 39lb 8oz.
We were so impressed that we have already booked again for next year!“

“From the moment we booked and to our trip ended, Nick was always at the other end of the phone and assisting where he could, very professional! Nick made the booking very easy!
On arrival at the lake, we found ourselves tucked away amongst fields in a small quiet village, with supermarkets no longer than 15 minutes away with fast food takeaways (but use the BBQ facilities on site instead and get your meat from the butcher inside the supermarket)!
The lake was very clean, the facilities very clean! Electric, hot showers and cooking facilities are what you want and you’ll find that here!
Everyone in our group caught with the top fish being “Louisa” coming out at 41lbs and a new 30 which I got to name “Two-Tone Al! It was an incredible fish!
We will definitely return at some point, there’s a lot of lovely fish still to be caught!”

“We have visited the wonderful Carphunters Lake three times now and I have to say we are pretty smitten with the Venue.
The lake has some very pretty stock to 50lbs and the beautiful and tranquil scenery keeps us coming back for more!
The entire complex is kept in a neat trim and the facilities are excellent!
St Malo port is just a short drive of an hour and a half and no tolls!
